Project Summary
Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory
The new Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory is part of an $11 million expansion in high technology instruments that can track high-consequence animal diseases. This new office/laboratory facility is an addition to the older facility that is located on the same property.
This facility houses the Division of Animal Industry which is responsible for enforcing animal health regulations in Florida, as well as protecting the state from animal pests and diseases that could have significant economic and public health consequences. The new facility includes laboratory space for virology, bacteriology, serology, histology, IHC, clinical pathology, and lab equipment compatible with BSL-2 guidelines
Boys Electrical Contractors was charged with designing and constructing the new utility infrastructure. The building is serviced by a storage tank and generator that has a load shedding transfer switch should the building ever lose power.
